What

Delivering Bad News
When patients are confronted with difficult news, this can lead to resistance or denial. Beyond sharing factual information, it is also about helping process the emotional impact of the message. The goals and phases of a difficult conversation, as well as the communication techniques that help make these conversations more effective.

Dealing with Resistance in 5 Steps
Learn how to effectively reduce resistance during a conversation using a five-step approach. Avoid the ‘shortcut’ and ensure you better connect with where the resistance lies. Each step highlights both effective strategies and common pitfalls when dealing with resistance.

Shared Decision-Making
The steps to reach a (treatment) plan together with the patient, with the aim of increasing intrinsic motivation and support. Shared decision-making encourages clear and effective communication, while also helping patients take greater responsibility for their own care.

Roleplay followed by presenter-led theory.

The presenter explains why your answer is correct or incorrect.
